im back again! ahh so lazy to blog already.. this always happen awhile after i start blogging- the fire will die down and ill be like so laazy to go to blogger. today was so sinful, as like other days. keep nomming on chips when im at home and chocolates and just heat up packaged food for dinner. Unhealthy but cooking need time and preparation and after that, there's still the dishes to do T.T so unless i feel like going healthy ill just eat whatever- which srsly explains my size now grew so much fatter since coming over T.T

i. will. go. for. a. jog later!!! ( i just need to rmb)

so ive got my work schedule for this 2 weeks and ... tadah!! my shifts are all night shifts... either ending at 12am or 1.30 am sigh. But i am thinking that Mousegear isnt that bad a place to work after all even though its a permanant location whereas my other friends get to switch beween stores. Its indoors( AC) , busy ( not boring) , SOME people are nice, and its not far from home :)) i just gotta stay positive hahah. my trainer brought me out ytd night to see the fireworks and it was so so pretty!! totally went squealing like some 5 year old kid heheh. really really adore fireworks will never get sick of them man, which is why i wanaa go visit Magic Kingdom soon and prolly many more times to come because ill just never get sick of the whole princess-ey feeling in MK. If i could choose, ill def wana work there^^

anyway im so happy coz i made a few friends over the past few days YAY hahah. ok i sound like some desperate loner now haha No ok! its just coz we havent been here long and its nice to meet people from other countries not just because they can cook their local cuisine but its so cool to hear the diffferent languages and culture. Disney is just a wonderful company to work with as i get to see the back scenes of it all and its like WOW they really make an effort to preserve the magic for each and every one of the guest. And part of it is because of the wonderful cast members and the traditions and Disney culture that is passed down from Walt Disney himself. For instance, we arent called employees or staff but cast members; we dont say on work and off work but onstage and backstage, its like we are in a performance or a play and it is our show.
Another term that Disney uses is when we do cashiering and we need a guest's signature for a credit card transaction, we will ask for their autograph instead of a signature, and when they leave we say" have a magical day" instead of " have a great day"as in what most places do. This is really interesting and it creates an intrinsic feeling of happiness for the guests because its not often we hear that and also because Disneyland is a land of magic and happiness. It is where people come and enjoy themselves and throw away their problems for the day even if its just for a few hours to be happy and enjoy without feeling the stress or worries of the world out there. As a kid i have always wanted to go to Disneyland(yes my parents did bring me^^) and the memories from my first visit i have kept intact untill now because it's so precious to me, and i am sure that every child out there feels the same way too. This really inspires me to go out of my way to create magical moments for them as i want them to leave Disneyland with memories that will follow them for life.

Yay im back to finally blog! :) Seriously i have no idea where to start since its already the third week of this program.. so basically, in SP DTRM course year 3 we have to do internship with either local or overseas companies. our course offers internships in the States with Disney, in China with Shangri-la and in Finland... but i have no idea what they are doing there  :/
Anyway, so on 2nd of Sept , 21 of us set off on our superrrlong journey to California! The flight which took around 18 hours in total was super draining journey probably because it was my first time on such a long flight OHGOD. Made a transit in narita airport in Japan before continuing to LAX. Honestly speaking, i had high expectations of LAX after reading my many bimbo-ish novels.... and i was disappointed.. its a really small airport? However we didnt stop there for long; the representive from UCR was already waiting to pick us up to the university and our dorms.

We spent 2 weeks in the University of California,Riverside and had to attend many classes and at the end of it all do a presentation and an exam and we are done there. Although it was only 2 weeks, it felt longer than that because we did so many things in our short stay there. I room-ed with laurel and siming and we settled down almost immediately in our dorm, unpacking all our stuff and really tried to replicate the 'home' feeling... which uhm, resulted in a hard time re-packing at the end of 2 weeks :/ for the most part, i really loved the 2 weeks there because of the whole university experience in another culture.. it was really different. i swear, i needed some time to get used to the food here.. its either really oily food or huge portions and fried/fast food. I remember the guide strongly recommending In-and-Out and we all tried it and im sorry to say i hated it >:( Most of our meals we had at the UNEX cafe which was the cafeteria at our dorm and omg i really disliked that too because it was FOC for us as we paid for the whole "package".. and maybe because of that the food choices were reallly limited and im not exaggerating when i say most of the food is DROWNED with oil. the fried stuff, at least. Thank God the University Village opposite have tons of food outlets, like yoshinoya and chinese and vietnamese food etc. I'll try to post as much pictures as possible :)) Cant really summarise everything we did the past 2 weeks[ im really just lazy] but uhm all in all i had a lot of fun and we went to many places like Hollywood, Santa Monica Beach, Farmer's Market at the Grove, K Mart, and shopping at Galleria Mall- its dsamn crazy, f21 has a building on its own and its HUGE and damn cheap. so happy hahah^^

Ok but despite the glorious and blissful moments.. some stuff i really didnt like was the CLIMATE in cali, it's so dry that my skin kept peeling )': bought a lot of moisturiser to spam but turns out i have sensitive skin which led to rashes on my face and i looked like some dry pumpkin most of the time aiyo! mood damper): anyway it got a lot better now at florida so YAY! hahah. oh yeah and its really very inconvenient without a car in the States cause very little public transport around. OH and the water!!! I wouldnt recommend drinking from the tap or water cooler cuz it tastes damn weird. One time i filled my bottle with  water in UCR and it was MILKY. didnt dare to drink from there ever since X.X so yeah just to be safe, buy your own water or boil it :))

So after 2 weeks, we left for florida on saturday night and arrived on sunday morning! Checked in at our apartments and straight away went to Wal-mart to get everything- from bedsheets and blankets to groceries etc.Im lucky i got what i requested for, so im staying at Vista Way :) Housing with 5 other housemates, all of us Singaporeans hahah, which is good and bad in a way that we dont get to stay with other ICP students. Most of us are staying in Vista but some is stayign in Chatham and Patterson Court. and... Ta-DA! thiis is my roommate is Si ming hahah for 6 months! gahhhh. we quarrel ALOT but its normal i think? Hopefully!

So basically we spent the next few days doing paperwork and admin stuff which means we get quite a lot of free time which we spent ... GOING TO WALMART. again and again omg like my second home already even before going to the Disneyparks. Keep having to buy new stuff/groceries even though i dont cook that much :/ I think ive spent like more than 50% of what i brought over, really do hope i get paid soon and it would be a fat paycheck hahah. which is actl not very likely so i can just stop dreaming :'(

just started work/training yesterday and it was Zomg. had to wear formal wear to work and formal heels but i didnt expect that i will start "working" that actual day but i had to WALK SOO MUCH that at the end of my 8 hr shift i got tons of blisters! its reaslly damn painful to work in heels.. i dont know how people do it tsk. respect!

so anyway, i dont know what to say about my workplace cause hahah i never know who's reading this.... but everyone says im really lucky to get to work at Epcot but yeah i dont know how i feel about it yet. I have a lot of uhm older cast members like they have grandchildren already kind..  but maybe next shift will meet some people my age? Other than making me work OT on my first day.. the shift was okay, but my breaks are only for 30 mins and i have to bring my own lunch/dinner cuz thrs no food near my workplace[Mousegear] anw sometimes i really feel like some loner here coz havent made much friends. [i used much not any cuz it would seem really pathetic lol but i rly did.. like one or two] Not much chances yet but maybe after a while more since we just got here for a couple of days. Went for my first disney class, Organizational Leadership today. My classmates are really diverse like from many different countries but still the majority are americans. There's like PRC, puerto rico, mexico, korea, japan, singapore[me] etc. The class was interesting but kinda of heavy alot of work to do in the future classes. luckily there's no paper!! Suay for so long finally one good thing lol. ok im exaggerating but it can be really tiring over here. You got to work, to study, to cook your own meals, to plan your time wisely[& acc to bus schedules], get along with so many people aiyo. and MY MOM hvnt called me yet so mean right?? im damn sad lah what is this man, and im homesick because she hvnt called me ): only a few weeks here though... ILL GET USED TO IT... eventually. dont even get me startedon the food here, i miss chinese food so much even though i dont really eat them in SG. anw this is a really long post cause i keep saving as draft and continuing whenever im free. Gonna go sleep now, class is at 8am tmr X.X nights peeps!

actl.. im very lazy to upload photos from CALI so just see it on my fb! hahah uploading a photo on blogger takes so long omg.
